Andromeda Gardens - St Joseph

Beautiful and unique gardens, created by the famous horticulturist Iris Bannochie in 1954, now belonging to the Barbados National Trust.
Wander through the beautiful gardens of plants and trees, or walk along "John's Path" or "Iris's Path".

Animal Flower Cave - St Lucy

At the northern point of the island, many of the pools in these caves are deep enough to swim in.

Codrington College - St John

Originally built in the first half of the 18th century, this old theological establishment is steeped in tradition.
The college is set in serene grounds with water-lily ponds and forest trails, overlooking the ocean, and is reached via an impressive palm tree-lined driveway.

Flower Forest - St Joseph

A magnificent forest, fifty acres in size, which is both a nature trail and botanical garden, with wildlife such as monkeys.
Enjoy the superb views over the East Coast.

The centerpiece of a working plantation, this house is the epitome of elegance, with antique paintings and graceful furnishings.
Take in the nearby Gun Hill Signal Station, built in the early 1900s, with its fascinating military artefacts and beautiful gardens.

Gun Hill Signal Station - St George

Built in 1818 and restored by the National Trust, this tower is the finest example of a signal station which was part of a chain along the coast, and houses fascinating military memorabilia.
A magnificent sculpture of a lion is on view, carved from one piece of rock in 1868.

Hackleton's Cliff - St Joseph
|
|
A little lower than Mount Hillaby, you can reach the top from a small track and walk to the edge of the cliff.
The views of the East and North East coasts are stunning.

Harrisons Cave - St Thomas
|
|
These underground caverns, full of streams and waterfalls, boast magnificent stalagmites and stalagtites.
Ride through the caves on an electric tram.

Mount Hillaby - St Andrew

|
The highest point on the island, the summit of Mount Hillaby stands at 1115 feet.
Take in the magnificent panoramic views of the East and West coasts.

Sam Lord's Castle - St Philip

|
This magnificent mansion was built in 1820 by Samuel Hall Lord, who made his wealth from looting ships that crashed against the rocks.
Look out for the stunning columns in the living room, carved from mahogany. The large gardens are beautiful, and there is a lovely beach.

An elegant Jacobean mansion, built more than 300 years ago, and full of olde worlde charm.
|
|
Built in the 1660s, the house was destroyed by fire in 1995, but now fully restored to its original condition.
Take in the magnificent and priceless antiques, including Bajan silver and china.

The museum is housed in an old British Garrison, built in the 1800s.
The superb collection of natural history and archaeological items is complemented by a collection of Europeand and African arts.

Welchman Hall Gully - St Thomas

|
A luxuriant gully with many unusual trees and plants from rare species. If you are interested in vegetation, you will be fascinated here.
Look out for the green monkeys.

Wildlife Reserve - St Peter

|
This reserve, close to Farley Hill, is a 4-acre mahogany forest with nature trails weaving through it.
Animals in their natural habitat include brocket deer and vervet monkeys.
