Other citizens should contact their nearest Barbados Tourism Authority for a visa application form. The fee for a single entry visa is BDS$50.00 and for a multiple entry visa is $60.00.

Barbados dollar.

The Barbados Dollar is fixed to the U.S. dollar and converted at the rate of $1.98 BDS to $1.00 U.S.

US dollars are accepted island-wide, and most stores and restaurants accept major credit cards and travellers cheques.

Weather

Sunny and warm all year. Eight to nine hours of sunshine most days. Prevailing NE winds keep the island from being unbearably hot. Average daytime high of 75o - 85oF, with slightly cooler nights.

The dry season lasts from January to June. For the rest of the year, the rain usually falls in short showers.

A temporary annual licence costs BDS$10 and is obtainable from car rental companies and police stations.

40 ounces of alcoholic beverages, 50 cigars, 200 cigarettes, 2 lb. of tobacco, 24 12-oz cans/bottles of beer.

For returning British citizens: (Persons aged 17 and over)
1 litre of alcohol, 200 Cigarettes or 250g tobacco, 50g (2 fl.oz.) perfumes, up to 28 pounds sterling worth of other goods.
